I went for q quick trip to San Fran. The streets were busy with people and I just fell right into. It was a nice change of pace. I also ate some amazing food and went to Alcatraz. Alcatraz is amazing. I really enjoyed the prison tour. I also had a blast at the presidio. .

Buffalo and Toronto.

So I was in buffalo and Toronto for a family event. I must say I love Toronto. I would move there. I am actually going to start looking for a job there. I also went to Niagara. I was there when the guy tight roped walk from the American and Canada side.

I have wrested back and forth with living up east or down south. Maybe a little move for a couple years.

Alaska cruise

So I went on an Alaska / British Columbia cruise. The cruise was beautiful and the destination were cold and splendid. The people were really nice. Now I did miss the sun because I am a beach baby. However, I can appreciate a good view and clean air. Alaska had both of them. There was a lot of snow in Canada. I thought I was in a winter wonderland. The man in the photo built and painted totem poles. It was awesome

Been away for a while.

So I have been away for a while. I don't have a good reason. However, I have been vacationing a good amount I went to Arizona in April to visit my friend from high school. That was a low key vacation. Did not take photos because it was desert. Had a god time though.

What I have been up to

I went to a boat show. Well I was riding on a bike. Then I ran a 10k. Went out to a club for a friends birthday. Played soccer games and have bruises to prove it. Went to another birthday party. Tried the food trucks and lastly tried to do pipe cleaners on my hair.

I need some sleep. No rest this weekend though. Busy !

The crepe

So after two soccer games and running the 15k. I think I deserved a crepe or two 😃. My friend is a wondeful baker/chef. I was so pleased when she invited me over for dinner so we could catch up (her sister is in town). A night with Korean spare ribs, Thai papaya salad, Kim chi, rice, and greens. Yum.

Oh I can't forget the gluten free cookies I just made. I am telling myself they are healthy because I have eaten 3 already. Lol

Hot chocolate 15k

I woke up super early this morning and ran the hot chocolate 15k. It was freezing outside. The temp was 30 degree Fahrenheit with a fierce wind chill. I thought I was prepared. I layered up and had on gloves. No such luck my fingers were numb for the entire day. Note to self.. Get better gloves for next run. After the run there was a bunch of hot chocolate every where. The rich ghirardelli hot chocolate was just was rich and warm. Perfect!! Then there was fondue with fruit and pretzels. Yum!!

All in all a good run. I am determined to get better gloves and train more.

A photo of us after the race.

Cake balls

So I really enjoy cupcakes but I am trying to switch it up and have cake balls. These little small bites of cake dipped in chocolate. Yummy! There this place in Dallas called Creme de la cookie. I originally went for cookies, which were excellent. Then I saw this pretty italian cream cake ball. I just had to have it.

A Trench

I have been in love with coats since I was a little girl. I was always wrapped up in a coat and a scarf. Not for cuteness just for warmth lol.  Lately, I have had my eye on trench coats. I just love the look of a nice crisp trench coat. So.... I am on the hunt for a new one. I think that I want the original khaki color this time. However, I can be swayed by a splash of color. A yellow trench coat would be nice if I could find one. Hopefully one day.

Then I saw this trench. It is made by London Fog. I just think it looks fabulous, I can already imagine my chocolate boots with this trench coat.

Rain rain go away.

I wish I could say come back another day but, I am not a fan of rain. I am wishing for the sun to come out again.

On the brighter note, I had the chance to wear one of my rain boots. I love rain boots. I have been eyeing the Hunter brand wellies. Hunter brand is not practical for me since it does not rain much here. I still want them though. One day....

Red Tails- Flight Officer Robert T. McDaniel

I went to go see the movie Red Tails yesterday. I thought it was a good movie. It gave bits and pieces of history that made it easy for the movie to be liked by all races. I would recommend.  A company here in Texas had a luncheon for one of the Tuskegee Airmen, Flight Officer Robert T. McDaniel and viewing of the movie at a near by theater. Flight Officer, Robert T. McDaniel  was so calm and and a gentle presence about him.  He was overjoyed by the positive reaction people had from viewing the movie.  He stayed for a questions and posed for photos.   He cracked jokes. He was a gem.  I am truly blessed to have met a man of his  military stature.

Sun, Beach and Rainforest=Perfect

So, I am back from my quick trip to Belize and getting back in the grind. There were so many great things about the Belize. The people were really nice and sweet. The food was amazing.  I love Caribbean and Spanish food so it was right up my alley. There were so many choices and restaurants were accommodating a with my vegetarianism.  Belize kind of reminds of you the Caribbean but kind of doesn't. The beaches are different not sandy white and sky blue( at least not walking on the beaches I saw). Now when you were in the boats farther out the water was blue and you could snorkel and see so much. However,  their vibe is extremely relaxed . As opposed to St.Kitts and Nevis  where every thing is extremely laid back and easy. I did not feel like things were on island time. I know it does not seem like a big thing but its noticeable. I mention St. Kitts because that is where my family is from( fathers side).  Its the island that I visit the most.

The highlight of my trip was when I went to the Mayan Ruins,  Cave Tubing and Zip lining. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. To see the Mayan Ruins was mind blowing that something so magnificent could be built like that so long ago. I was impressed how maintained the ruins were.

The Cave Tubing was spectacular. To see the bats and the indentation of animals that were in the cave. In addition, a hot water spring was in the cave as well. By far the best thing I did on the trip. I dont have any photos because no water proof camera. Next time I will be ready. I am searching for one now.

Zip lining is something I am a big fan of. I try to participate in this kind of activity if offered. This time it started raining at the 4th platform. I was a little nervous. However the guide said " Its a rain forest of course it is going to rain." I laughed so hard my stomach ached. It was grape size rain though and that is big to me. I think he thought I was a wimp and I am!

The beach near the hotel I stayed

My golf carting around

 Mayan Ruin
 Me and My Mom
 Zip Line
Walking up the stairs to Zip Line
 Belize flag
The police station kind small and looks like a cute house

Lastly, just rented a cart and toured the island. Saw resorts, houses, turtles, snakes, monkeys etc.

My camera is having problems after getting wet in the rain forest. It's in the rice hospital. I hope rice sucks all all the wetness out it so it will be back to normal.

Great food and little planes

Landed in Belize city and then had to take a 15 minute flight to San Pedro. The plane is super cute but not much room. I could barely hold my back pack. I also got to ride right next to the pilot. I think that is a sign that is trip is going to be amazing.

Checked into the hotel and we are starving. We ask a local guy for recommendations. He says several places. We settle on Belzian/Latin( yes I make up my own words) restaurant. The food is fantastic. They even had vegetarian things.

San Pedro is small and cute the people are all smiles. The food for the most part reminds of the Caribbean. There is alot of rice and peas, curry, jerk, fresh fish, lobster, Johnny cake, stew chicken and beef etc. I am in heaven. Except I am not eating meat right now. Sad face!!

The photos below are our meals. I had the veggies with beans and corn tortilla. My mother had fish stew which smelt so good the people at the next table asked her what she orders. They had fresh juice. You will see watermelon juice with star fruit! I love the islands !
